#77. Feltstock3 Music Festival, Feltham. 10.06.16.

It was the eagerly awaited return of Feltham's Fav Music Festival, FELTSTOCK3. The sun shone as requested & the stellar line-up of great acts lived up to the pre event hype partying late into the night.
First up was the Marginal Notes swiftly followed by the debut performance of the FU’s (Feltham Ukuleles) & the folky musings of the Woodcut Process.
So onto the Phantoms (once their invalid drummer had managed to hobble onto stage)! The band really enjoyed their turn (as evident by the lead singer quaffing cava straight from the bottle throughout the gig!) packing in as many crowd pleasers as could be squeezed into an hour. New song ‘Burning Love’ by Elvis went down well, as did their rare foray into a cover from the current decade, ‘Counting Stars’ by OneRepublic. Well, the younger Phant followers present seemed to like it! Another highlight of the set was being joined onstage by Dave ‘Chopper’ Harris (on Ukulele!) for a rousing rendition of I’m a Believer by the Monkees. Nearly as good as the FU’s!
With the bar now set ridiculously high the remaining acts had the unenviable task of following the Phantoms, but they all rose to the challenge in style. Fused were as great as ever, Chopper Squad had the crowd waving their mobiles as the sun was setting with the memorable finale to their set, Princes’ Purple Rain. And lastly, Orangutan Thumb brought the night to a close with a bang (just as the bar ran dry)!
Finally, the good news. With the axe looming over the venue the main man who was in the audience confirmed there’s at least one more Summer left, so roll on next year!

The Phantoms were: Mark Gibson (lead vocals & keys), Kevin Rogers (guitar), Jason Biggs (guitar & vocals), Jon Novice (bass & vocals) & Alun Westoll (drums & vocals). With special guest Dave Harris on Ukulele.
