What a dilemma!
Phantoms in the Grey Horse or Jazz in the Ram Jam? Well, 152 phans
flocked into the Grey Horse (another personal best crowd!) & one person
threw up outside the Jazz club! No competition!
An amazingly responsive
and enthusiastic crowd enjoyed the Phantoms 9th appearance at
the Grey Horse in Kingston. The Woodcut Process (& guest violinist) were
an instant hit (despite their set being sabotaged by two idiot Scottish
karaoke singers!) The Phantoms then followed with a well received first
set featuring the Phans in fine voice during ‘The One I Love’. After a
brief interval the band returned to the stage. Things started off well
but a major technical hitch during the middle of new song ‘Shiny Happy
People’ resulted in a bit of a dip in the Phantoms usually faultless
output! Undeterred (well, slightly deterred!), the band pressed on to
deliver a rousing end to the evening. The masses vocal introduction to
‘Chelsea Dagger’ and accompaniment to ‘We are the Angry Mob’ being major
highlights! Well done you! If you didn’t already know, we had this gig
recorded
so keep your eyes open for the ‘Phantoms
live at the Grey Horse’ CD.
You may be
impressed (or possibly not!).
Hopefully available at all good record shops just in time for
Christmas (and you can help keep the X Factor Album off the top of the
charts)! We are all now off to become Uncles! See you all in 2008!
