International star,
singer and pianist, Daryl Sherman is a sparkling
mainstay of Manhattan nightlife, she regularly performs
on Cole Porter's Steinway at the Waldorf Astoria and has
been lauded for appearances at the Algonquin's Famous
Oak Room, Iridium Jazz Club and most recently, Jazz At
Lincoln Centre with Wynton Marsalis.
She undertakes a European tour once a year and last year
this included a dazzling fourth return engagement at
London's Pizza On The Park, and concerts in Wales,
Leeds, Ireland and Scotland.
Equally at home in the worlds of jazz and cabaret, Daryl
Sherman's many recordings (on Arbors) have received high
critical praise and airplay internationally. Her CD,
Jubilee, with Dave McKenna received four stars in
Downbeat and was cited one of the year's best. And with
her tribute to Richard Rodgers, A Hundred Million
Miracles "Sherman proves that she can more than hold her
own in the company of musicians as weighty as Ruby Braff
and tenor sax man Houston Person." London Times.

2006 saw her
brilliant new CD Guess Who’s in Town included in the ‘10
best of 2006’ in The New Yorker, citing her own song
Welcome to Manhattan, “a standard to be.”
Other notables she has performed and recorded with
include Bob Dorough, Dick Hyman, Bucky and John
Pizzarelli, Tommy Flanagan, Ken Peplowski, Joe Cohn, Jay
Leonhart and Kenny Davern.
This year Daryl brings you:
Jazz Goes to Broadway
From the late 20s up through the 21st century the
Broadway theatre has spawned a treasure trove of the
world's most beloved songs but it was jazz musicians and
pop singers who took them out of the context of the show
and really put them on the map. Daryl Sherman and her
trio take you on a swinging, heart warming tour thanks
to the brilliance of Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Hart,
Hammerstein, the Gershwins, Leonard Bernstein, Sondheim
(and a little Noel Coward for added seasoning.)
