Solo Artist > Craig Milverton > Full Biog
Craig Milverton is one of Britain's top jazz pianists with his virtuoso ability and comprehensive knowledge of the entire jazz spectrum

Craig's main influences are Oscar Peterson and Bill Evans. He is a member of Digby Fairweather's 'Half Dozen', which teamed up with George Melly in the jazz show 'Singing and Swinging the Blues' and now BBC Radio 2 Blues man, Paul Jones. He is a member of Paul Lacey's 'Tribute to Ben & Sweets' quintet, with two acclaimed CD's 'Grooving Blue' and 'Mainstream' to their credit.

He also runs three groups of his own: ‘Threeflow', a trio playing originals and standards in more modern territory, ‘Three at Last' a drumless trio recapturing the sound and feel of the Nat Cole and Oscar Peterson groups and ‘Organ Solar’ an organ, guitar and drums trio with the emphasis on ‘groove' from Jimmy Smith to contemporary jazz.

Craig is also very much in demand as a solo pianist; a skilled accompanist to such star vocalists as Stacey Kent and Tina May.
His love of the music shines through - he's a natural at whatever he plays with his thorough knowledge and grasp of jazz styles.

Also a fine singer, Craig often entertains his audiences with blues and boogie woogie - particularly popular are his Jerry Lee Lewis renditions!

He is much sought after as his trios are regularly required to back visiting American soloists at festivals and venues across the country including Scott Hamilton, Ken Peplowski and Warren Vache.

Craig Milverton is often cited and has been critically acclaimed as Britain’s Oscar Peterson, and with his new trio featuring Canadian Guitar Maestro Dominic Ashworth and the young Ray Brown influenced Bassist Luke Steele, he is in much demand as he pays tribute to the Great Oscar Peterson Trios of the 1950's. A real feast of swinging piano as one of the true Jazz legends is celebrated.
