Dutchman Tim Kliphuis
ranks among the world's finest jazz violinists. He has
often been named the successor of Stéphane Grappelli,
taking his legacy into the 21st Century by infusing
Gypsy Swing with Folk and Classical music. Tim’s spirit
and style are reminiscent of the late, great jazz
fiddler: virtuoso playing with a great love for melody.
Kliphuis' first international recognition came after he
joined Belgian gypsy guitarist Fapy Lafertin in 1999.
Since then, he has performed with jazzmen Martin Taylor,
Bob Wilber, Les Paul, Bucky Pizzarelli, Herb Geller and
Alan Barnes, fiddlers Jay Ungar and Evan Price and gypsy
guitarists Boulou Ferré, Angelo Debarre, Stochelo
Rosenberg, Samson Schmitt and Wawau Adler.
Tim appears at venues ranging from jazz clubs to
classical concert halls. He has performed at North Sea
Jazz, Edinburgh Jazz, Ottawa Jazz, Birmingham Jazz, La
Villette Jazz (Paris), Ronnie Scott’s and Pizza Express
Club London, Iridium Jazz Club NYC, The Green Mill Club
Chicago, Gypsy Jazz Festivals of Seattle, San Francisco,
Northampton MA, Philadelphia, Django Memorial (Germany)

and Les Nuits de la
Guitare (Corsica), which was broadcast on French
National television.
Recent
